Women’s Organisation for Rural Leadership Development (WORLD) is a registered non-profit, non-governmental women group working to address the lack of opportunities within impoverished communities in India. It was initiated in the year 2000 by a group of like-minded women to improve the marginalized survivor’s poor standards of living and provide them with basic amenities like food, education, shelter, and medicine at no cost.
Since its inception, the organization has empowered the women and youth groups by involving them in forming self-help groups, health clubs, literacy programs, vocational skill training, and conducting a needs assessment as a part of innovative and creative community development programs in remote villages and slums.
Apart from these, WORLD is successfully and actively campaigning on various social issues like street begging, child labor and marriage, discriminatory violence, dowry system, Substance Abuse/Addiction, and elderly abuse to bring positive attitudes among the crowds in the village, mandal, state, and national level.
WORLD has no religious, caste, race, and ethnicity biases and is committed to the development and long-term sustainability.
